Kiko Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation

P1010079In my recent Kiko Haul, I mentioned this fab foundation Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation. I’ve been using this foundation for lil over a month now and I can safely say I friggin love it!

It comes in an opaque tube with a very runny texture. This foundation is pigmented enough to cover any blemishes or dark spots. However I still prefer to fade them with a concealer. Its coverage (medium to full), finish and buildability makes it a versatile choice for day or evening wear. Either way the finish on skin is very natural due to its ability to blend seamlessly. I apply it with Real Techniques Buffing Brush or plain ol’ fingers.  It doesn’t leave a cakey face with visible lines <ewww> The foundation lasts on me all day without any touch ups.

If you get a chance to visit the Kiko store, I would highly recommend to try it out. They have many shades, precisely 20 shades so it shouldn’t be very hard to find a good match. Kiko claims: Hypoallergenic – formulated to ensure  minimum instance of allergic reactions. Non comedogenic. Fragrance free. Paraben free.

The Backups….last part. For now.

P1010085Instead of calling this backups I could simply call this Brand Focus post but its crucial to emphasis the importance of these products in moi life. Also these products pictured above are Made in France versions which are not available in USA stores, therefore I sneaked these on my recent getaway to Montreal.

Effaclar K – Used this for long time, currently working through my third tube and above pictured are tube #4 and #5.

Effaclar Duo – Splendid for my spots, always need to have back ups for spot treatment. Those suckers aren’t going to magically stop appearing therefore I can justify backups for these products.

Effaclar AI – this one is a relatively newer discovery for me. Primarily for spot treatments, noticed a difference overnight and ran to stock up.

Cicaplast Baume – For as long as Personal Microderm (PMD) and I have an ongoing relationship, this baume is part of our routine.

Pixi Glow Tonic – simple, effective, affordable, gentle, good ol Pixi Glow Tonic! Always have one bottle on stand by…just in case.

Nuxe Reve De Miel Hands & Nail Cream – Instantly absorbed and wonderfully moisturizing. Part of my life.

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm – this one is an obsession. period.

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick – clearly the obsession continues! Same scent, same properties as the lip balm above but in a portable handbag friendly avatar. What’s not to like!

L’occitane 20% Shea Butter Rose Hand Cream – Oh Lord, this smells insanely good! Moisturizes even better. Generous quantity which means it lasts forever.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color – Blush Pink – I have been addicted to this lip color for the longest time. This lip color has witnessed me go through many breakups, but BB stuck by me hence I have one on stand by.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum in Oil – This product has been featured multiple times before, and its my solution for any skin problem. Any. period.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Sunscreen – I do NOT use any other sunscreen but this. It has saved my ass in New Orleans, Vegas, Houston and Miami summer like no other. Cheap and Cheery. Always have multiple tubes on the go, one in car, one in travel toiletries bag, one in my husband’s toiletries bag…I guess you get the drift.

The Cleansing Backups

I think we’ve all been there, when we fall in a love with some product and it becomes an indispensable part of our regime. Our innate first world fear sets in, and we purchase multiples of the product like the apocalypse is going to hit tomorrow. So here are my back ups for a rainy day:P1010083

Bioderma Micellar Water – this has been raved and ranted on endlessly in blogsphere and modeling world. No other micellar water has come close to this, or is as gentle as this one.

Rodial Glamtox Cleansing Balm – Bloody love this balm. It’s a thick textured balm which I massage onto dry skin and it effectively removes moi makeup!

Rodial Dragons Blood Cleansing Water – Good but not as good as Bioderma Micellar Water. I use this one as an aromatherapy treat.

The Body Shop Nutriganics Cleansing Gel – my rave, rant and disappointment on it being discontinued can be found here.

The Body Shop: Nutriganics Softening Cleansing Gel Oil

P1010095I’m going to start out saying this is/was simply the most affordable, accessible, effective, gentle cleanser out there. Until The Body Shop USA decided to discontinue it (other countries continue to sell this). I have no idea why would they inflict such an atrocity on mankind, but here’s with a hope that they are bringing something even better!

Back to this wonderful goodness locked in an opaque travel friendly tube. It has a glorious slightly runny gel texture which upon massaging on dry skin turns into an oil giving just the right amount of slip. Effectively removes makeup and wonderful medium to give your face a massage as well. I gently wipe it off with a warm steamy face cloth/flannel/wash cloth (whatever you’ like to call it) leaving my skin nourished.

A simple darn cleanser that does its bloody job. ‘Was’ very affordable and on clearance now is cheap as chips ($6). If you still manage to find it near TBS get your hands on it, and just give it a try!
