My Thoughts: Bioderma White Objective Serum

P1000662

Browsing through the aisles of Pharmacia in Madrid, I purchased this serum on a whim. Quickly glanced at the ingredients and thought let’s try it. It sure has some pretty effective ingredients for brightening and exfoliating the skin.

The packaging was interesting, with 30ml bottle accompanied with a vial of Vitamin C powder. You need to empty the powder in 30ml bottle (travel friendly) and give it a good shake ensuring all ingredients have nicely incorporated.

I used this every night after toning and experienced slight tingling sensation (sensitive skins might not enjoy it) that dint last long. I noticed that the glycolic acid helped my skin when I was experiencing breakout. Next morning my skin felt brighter and spots shrinking . It certainly did wonders to my older acne scars, some pigmentation and dull areas. This serum doesn’t have any smell to it but over a period of time I noticed the color of serum changed not impacting its efficacy. I’m assuming it’s due to vitamin c which is not the most stable ingredients.

As with any glycolic acid and vitamin c product, I ensured I had adequate sun protection at all times.  My only gripe with this product would be I wish it had slightly lower alcohol content. Whilst I fully understand that alcohol is needed to stabilize glycolic acid, it’s just tad strong. In saying so, I would definitely buy it again!

Ingredients:

WATER (AQUA), ALCOHOL DENAT., GLYCOLIC ACID (Yay), SODIUM HY- DROXIDE, ASCORBYL GLUCOSIDE (Yay), BUTYLENE GLYCOL, NIACINAMIDE (Yay), LYSINE AZELATE, ANDROGRAPHIS PANICULATA LEAF EXTRACT, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT (Yay), HEXAPEP-TIDE-2, RHAMNOSE, MANNITOL, XYLITOL, FRUCTOOLIGOSACCHARIDES, AMMONIUM ACRYLOYL DIMETHYLTAURATE/VP COPOLYMER, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, POLYSORBATE 20, SODIUM METABISULFITE.

My Thoughts: Dr. Scheller Organic Lavender Night Moisturizer

P1000637

When my husband was travelling for work to Germany, he picked this goodie up for me. Initially I was tad skeptical of his choice because he doesn’t know the ingredients that actually irritate my skin resulting in breakouts. However I must publically declare he did me proud! Dr. Scheller claims:

A rich formula to calm sensitive skin or a wonderful night care for normal skin. Lavender has been known for centuries for it’s calming and relaxing effects in aromatherapy. Combined with licorice root to calm irritations and redness and strengthen the skin overnight. Other precious oils include olive oil, inca inchi oil (high in Omega 3,6,9), herbal squalane (skin tightening & firming property) , sunflower oil & coconut oil.

NATRUE certified organic cosmetics, their highest certification level with at least 95% of natural ingredients sourced from controlled organic agriculture or controlled wild collection

  • Free of Silicones, Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colorants Big tick of approval from me
  • Gluten Free
  • Free of Parabens & GMO ingredients GMO (don’t need additional hormones to mess me up) part Big tick of approval from me
  • Dermatologist tested for skin tolerance & efficiency Big tick of approval from me
  • Vegan
  • Highest Quality Made in Germany

P1000638

It is certainly is a rich formula which feels rather luxurious. In saying so, it is light and absorbs quickly into skin. For you to love this moisturizer you’ve gotta love the scent of lavender. If you do, you’ve hit jackpot as it smells heavenly and in some way it’s calming and soothing for me. No breaking out situation at all. The pot has lasted me a while, as little goes a long way. Dr Scheller claims its perfect for sensitive to normal skin. Personally I’m combination, dehydrated and odd breakout prone skin but the cream din’t cause any issues at all. Usually I wear it on top of The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum in Oil (review coming soon) and next morning skin looks plump, well rested and overall healthy & glowing.
